Five layers, lined up and ready to import

  • head1 is your character's normal face.
  • head2 is the face they make when you click them, the > < one.
  • head3 is the same face with the eyes closed: BUG Clicker blinks with it.
  • head4 is the happy face it makes while you pet it.
  • body is everything below the head, with the neck and shoulders drawn in, so nothing shows through when the head bounces.

All five sit on the same 800 × 800 transparent canvas, in one PSD whose groups BUG Clicker's PSD import reads by name. head3 and head4 are made right after the pet itself.

Don't use BUG Clicker? Every pet made here also runs in Clicky Pet, our own small desktop pet app for Windows and Mac. Free, nothing to set up.

How to make your BUG Clicker pet

  1. Upload one picture of your character: your OC, a fan drawing you made, or a character you have the right to use. PNG, JPG or WebP up to 10 MB. Any art style works; one character per picture works best.
  2. Pay $4.99 once with Stripe (card, Apple Pay or Google Pay). Your pet is made right after, in 1 to 4 minutes: an AI image model draws your character as three parts, and we line them up on one canvas and check the fit. You can leave the page and come back from My pets.
  3. Poke your pet to see the > < face, then download the PSD. head3 (the eyes closed) and head4 (the happy face) are added right after, usually in 1 to 3 minutes, and then it blinks and can be petted.
  4. In BUG Clicker, open Character Studio, press "Load PSD" on the Images tab and pick the file: every layer goes into its slot. The import guide has every step, with pictures.

Pictures that work best

Any art style works. Clicky Pet redraws your character as a chibi desktop mascot, standing and facing you, so an anime drawing, a storybook sketch, a mascot or a 3D render all come out in the same pokeable format. What matters is that the model can see your character clearly.

  • One character per picture: the tool makes one pet from one picture.
  • A plain background is the safest. A splash art with scenery and effects worked in our tests too, but the less there is around your character, the less the model has to guess.
  • Long hair that hides the neck is fine: the model draws the neck and the top of the shoulders under the head, so nothing shows through when the head bounces.
  • Characters that aren't people work as well: Mochi, one of the samples above, is a little fox, and a mechanical bear from a 3D render came out fine in our tests.

What happens after you press Make my pet

First an automated check looks at your picture. Then it is placed on a plain color, and an AI image model (Google's Nano Banana 2.1) draws one sheet: the head at rest, the head when poked, the body without the head, and the complete character. Our code cuts the parts out, lines each one up against the complete character and checks how well they fit. A sheet that doesn't fit well enough is drawn again, up to 3 sheets in all. If none fits, the pet is not made and your credit comes back.

Right after your pet is made, the model draws one more sheet from the one that passed: the same head with the eyes closed (head3) and a delighted face (head4). Each is lined up against head1 and added to your BUG Clicker PSD, usually in 1 to 3 minutes. If they can't be made for your picture, you keep head1, head2 and body, and your credit comes back.

Questions

What is BUG Clicker?

A free desktop pet program made by BUG (@BUGnDEV): your character sits on your desktop and answers with a click sound and a speech bubble when you click it. It runs on Windows 10 and 11, and there is a Mac beta since October 22, 2026. Get it only from the developer's official links: Windows and Mac.

Is Clicky Pet the official BUG Clicker site?

No. Clicky Pet is an independent desktop pet app and PSD maker by Lunonia Inc., not affiliated with BUG or BUG Clicker. We don't host BUG Clicker; download it from its developer.

What do I get for $4.99?

One PSD for one character: an 800 × 800 transparent canvas with five groups named head1, head2, head3, head4 and body, the names BUG Clicker's PSD import looks for. head1 is the face at rest, head2 the > < face when clicked, head3 the eyes closed (it blinks with it) and head4 the happy face while petted. head3 and head4 are made right after the pet; if they can't be made for a picture, you still get the other three and your credit back. You also get the layers as PNGs. You pay once; there is no subscription.

How much is it?

$4.99 a pet, paid once, with no subscription. If the picture can't be turned into a pet, you are not charged: your credit comes back.

Do I need to know how to draw?

No. You only need one picture of the character. The model draws the parts BUG Clicker needs, including the neck and shoulders that the hair usually hides and the > < face for when the pet is clicked.

Does it work on Mac?

Yes. Clicky Pet runs in your browser, and the PSD works in both the Windows version and the Mac beta of BUG Clicker.

Is AI used?

Yes. The parts are drawn by an AI image model (Google's Nano Banana 2.1) from the picture you upload. If you draw your own parts, you don't need this tool: BUG Clicker takes your drawings directly.

Can I use someone else's art?

Only if you have their permission. Many artists ask people not to edit or reuse their art, so use your own picture or one you are allowed to use.

What happens to my picture?

We keep your uploaded picture for 1 day and your pet's files for 30 days so you can download them again, then delete them. We don't use your pictures to train models.

Can I change the parts after I download them?

Yes. They are ordinary layers on an 800 × 800 canvas: open the PSD in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint or another editor that reads PSD files, change what you like, and load it into BUG Clicker again. Character Studio watches the character's folder, so a part saved again under the same name updates right away.

What else can my pet do in BUG Clicker?

BUG Clicker adds the rest: the lines in its speech bubble, its click sound, how it moves to music and when you type, the effects when you pet it, and reminders for water, medicine and your to-do list. You can also add ears, a tail, wings or a little doll on its head in the Parts tab. All of that is set in the app, not in the PSD. See what BUG Clicker is for the full picture.

Can I use my pet without BUG Clicker?

Yes. Under your pet, choose Put it on your desktop: you get a .clickypet file for Clicky Pet, our own free desktop pet app for Windows and Mac, under 10 MB. Open the file and your pet appears on your desktop, blinking and ready to be petted.
